Quayside Barking

The new Quayside Barking Project will be located next to the River Roding in Barking, East London. The development will include up to 17 high rise towers consisting of 1,514 residential units, a Tesco store, a community hub and a number of commercial spaces.

Project Delivery

Joule Group were appointed as the fire safety engineers at the outset of the project, assisting the design team in the development of the fire safety strategy principles. However, due to having an eye on the built environment with regard to potential political and regulatory change, Joule Group were able to provide an impact assessment early on explaining how the current design may be impacted by new legislation. Following this, Joule Group worked closely with the client and the project team around the new scheme, adding significant value by developing a new approach to the design of residential towers with enhancements for evacuation of residents and access for firefighting.
