Lusail Stadium

The Lusail World Cup Stadium is a state-of-the-art venue located in Doha, Qatar. It has a seating capacity of 80,000 and is designed to host international football matches, including the FIFA World Cup. The stadium features a unique design inspired by traditional Arabic architecture and is equipped with advanced technology.

Project Delivery

Joule Group was appointed as the fire safety engineers to develop the fire safety strategy for the 80,000-seater stadium. Joule Group were part of a design and build consortium and were actively completing on detailed design coupled with finalising Tender Documents. The project followed international standards and FIFA requirements. The key principles for fire safety have been addressed through performance-based fire safety engineering such as structural fire engineering, smoke control assessment for stadium bowl and the underground roadway and service tunnels, detailed façade and material fire safety requirements, and an evacuation model.
