Digital Library - House of Wisdom

The Sharjah House of Wisdom is a cultural and educational institution located in Sharjah, UAE. It aims to promote knowledge and understanding of Islamic culture, history, and philosophy. The House of Wisdom features a library, museum, and lecture hall.

Project Delivery

Joule Group developed the fire strategy design, undertaking the related analysis, integrating the fire safety design principles across the project team and managing the stakeholder approval with Sharjah Civil Defense. We proactively coordinated the FLS design through interdisciplinary architectural and engineering workshops to ensure the local standards and requirements were understood and incorporated into the design. Key challenges revolve around departures from prescriptive local code requirements relating to egress planning and atrium smoke control.
