Chemical Warehouse - ICAD

Schlumberger intended to build a maintenance base with workshops, labs, offices and storage facilities for its oilfield services operation in Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas. The total developed area is 74,646sqm. The development includes a warehouse storing flammable and combustible liquids and combustible powders with automatic racking systems, workshops buildings, mechanical and calibration facilities.

Project Delivery

The significant value we provided on this project was leading the strategy on the design of buildings with hazardous materials. We provided expertise to classify and provide design advice on all flammable and combustible liquids and combustible dry powders. We worked with FM Global to agree a bespoke suppression strategy for the warehouse that stored large quantities of wet and dry flammable and combustible materials. We also developed the complete integrated fire strategy for all buildings and successfully achieved Civil Defence approval for a very complex site.
