Al Ula Winter Camp

The Tantora Winter Camp is a luxury tented desert retreat located in the Saudi Arabian desert region of Al-Ula. Surrounded by breath-taking natural beauty and magnificent monuments to human endeavour that span millennia, Al-Ula is one of the world’s greatest undiscovered wonders. The retreat is made up of guest rooms and suites, F&B and entertainment areas, and a large Festival site. The site also includes support buildings and staff accommodation.

Project Delivery

Joule Group led the fire and life safety masterplan and building design for this luxury tented desert retreat.​ Joule Group ensured a fast program for the masterplan and detailed design was delivered with high quality. The key design challenges faced included special considerations for temporary structures and special materials used for the tent construction, as well as ensuring adequate firefighting water supplies and fire vehicle access to the rugged terrain.
